About the Studio

Studio 38 Fitness is an exercise studio that specializes in putting the client first.  We take a close look at the goal of each person individually. Based on our assessment we strategically put forth a results oriented program that, without question, will get our clients to their goals.  In our state of the art studio we combine strength training with cardiovascular programing and nutrition counseling for a “can’t lose” method of success.  We understand that each client is different and it isn’t realistic to design generalized programs and routines. We provide a fun, energetic environment that inspires hard work and success.

Our Philosophy

By eliminating the warehouse gym atmosphere filled with onlookers and distractions we can focus on the task at hand, getting you fit.  Our ultra-private studio provides the best environment for our clients to forget about their surroundings and put all their energy into the workout.  Whether it’s personal training with one of the most qualified fitness trainers in the area, Spinning with a Madd Dogg certified instructor, or taking part in one of the many other fitness classes we have, we promise to provide unparalleled service and programs without the disruptions.

About the Owner – Jeff Devine

Jeff, originally from Mansfield Ma, has been working in the health and fitness industry for 17 years in and around the greater Boston area.  Jeff started personal training while getting his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Massachusetts Boston.  Once he received his degree, he began working for two of the most prestigious health clubs (Wellbridge of Newton/ The Sports Club/LA-Boston) in the Boston area where he provided elite personal training services.  During that time, Jeff also worked as the health promotion director at a large software company in Needham MA where he not only provided personal training but also incorporated weight loss programs, coordinated activities and events, in addition to day to day club management.

Jeff opened his first personal training studio in June of 2008, but after 3 years of developing a highly successful practice, outgrew the space and decided to relocate to Stoneham.  He opened his new studio in July of 2011 and has never been happier.  Jeff strives to provide superior service and amenities for all of his clients whether they take part in classes or personal training.

On a personal note, Jeff lives in Boston where he has for the last 17 years.  He’s always been into being active whether it’s taking part in sports throughout school or recreational activities such as pickup basketball, running, hiking or charity fundraisers.

Degree: BS Exercise Physiology, University of Massachusetts

Certifications: Along with Jeff’s degree, currently he holds certifications in AHA CPR/AED and MADD DOGG Spinning.  Over the years Jeff has been certified by elite organizations such as ACSM, health fitness instructor, NASM certified personal trainer, NESTA post rehab specialist, AFAA group exercise instructor and USA Weightlifting level one strength coach.

Rob has been Spinning for over 10 years before he got certified by MADD DOGG so it was easy for him to make the transition from patron to instructor.  A staple on Wednesday and Friday mornings, Rob delivers a steady stream of tough, calorie burning workouts that will leave the sweat dripping off you.  A fan of music, Rob also loves to incorporate all different types of tunes into his classes so boredom will never be an issue.

Personally, Rob lives in Melrose with his wife Trish and their son Christopher.  He’s an accountant by trade and loves to exercise and spend time with his son in his spare time.
