I Take Exercise Classes During the Week, Why Are They Not Working?

Why Is this Happening?

The trend going around right now is that a lot of people are joining group fitness classes with the hopes of losing weight.  It can be cost affordable and, if you find the right instructor, you can get a pretty good workout.  The problem that is happening is that people aren’t gaining any benefit when it comes to body composition change and even worse are trending in the negative direction.   There are around 350 million people in the USA but according to the CDC just about 20 percent exercise (23 % men, 18% women) but out of that 20 % only 4-5% actually accomplish weight loss goals or positive body composition changes.

The need of a Fitness Coach or Personal Trainer

And the reason why this is happening? Because there is a lack of accountability.  With group exercise classes, though great for getting sweat in, very few actually track clients and their goals.  There isn’t that weekly individualized check in.  Clients are taking these classes and then go out and off set what they accomplished by making poor decisions with food or alcohol.   When you meet with a coach or a trainer on a regular basis, you follow a plan and have to report in.  Having support and direction make a significant difference on being in the 4-5% who get results or the 6-20% who are just spinning their wheels.

If you’ve been struggling, we can help.  We’ll form a plan, together, so you can reach your goals.  Some times it takes just a little tweak, but most of the time it takes a coach to help you see it.
