30 Days of September
With summer coming to an end I figured that more than a few of us could use a little kick-starter to get us back on track for fall. Along with the warm days of summer also come the social events which equates to an increase in “Social Intake”. Now’s the time to put those days behind us and use the month of September as a daily reminder of how hard we worked and that we don’t want to lose it all. This comprehensive program will help encourage you to stay focused on your goals all while giving you little tricks and tips leading you to success. This program consists of but is not limited to:
- Setting goals and filling out a goal sheet
- Weighing in by Monday September 1st
- Monday thru Friday reporting of your required tasks
- Log onto myfitnesspal.com and keep a consistent log
- Be able to handle restricting alcohol
- Be able to perform remedial tasks
- And much more…
Anyone interested in this program please email jeff@studio38fitness.com and reserve a space. We were originally set to have a meeting on Thursday August 28th @ 7:30 but due to limited RSVP’S I feel there is no need to hold the meeting. All communication will be conducted via email.
Beach Boot Camp- Sept. 6th
It’s the event we’ve all been waiting for all summer. Beach Boot Camp. Every year we meet at the studio and head to a local beach to put on the most fun boot camp all year. On September 6th we’ll meet at the studio @ 8 AM and caravan to the beach (most likely the sugar bowl in Southie) and workout for about an hour and 15 minutes. But here is the kicker, not only do we workout but we then enjoy some refreshments afterwards and some people have even been know to go to one of the local establishments for and adult morning beverage after that. It’s a can’t lose!! Also, if you have children it’s a great place for them to play at the beach while you workout.
Hub on Wheels-Sept. 21st
A couple years ago a bunch of us participated in the city of Boston’s Hub on Wheels bicycle event that takes participants on a two wheeled ride around Boston. We’re doing it again!
This event you don’t have to be an experienced cyclist to enjoy riding all over the city throughout all the different neighborhoods. I’ve seen it first hand and you wont ever see the city like this unless you do the event the next year.
The organizers describe it: “The ride is fully supported and safe, with three routes: 10, 30, or 50 milesof harbor views and hidden pathways, river greenways and Boston’s wonderful and eclectic neighborhoods. “
Registration is $50 and you must register ahead of time. For all interested parties, here is the link:

Fitness Trivia
Two people are working out on the stairmasters at the gym, both at level 10 for about 20 minutes. One guy is a SHREDDED 180 lbs and the other is a not so shredded 195 lbs. You tell me, who burns more calories at the 10, 15 and 20 minute marks. Good luck.
Honor system, no Google.
At Home Workout Challenge
You might have seen this going around online so now it’s your turn to try it. The 200 Squat challenge. It’s simple, time yourself as you try to do 200 squats without stopping. You can make it even more fun and video yourself and I’ll post them online. It’s a real burner!! Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Send in those videos!
Holiday Schedule- Labor Day
The schedule for this weekend will remain the same with no changes. The only changes will be to Mondays schedule. There will be one class on Monday morning time TBD with no 12:15 or 6:15 class. The format of the morning class is still being worked out but will NOT be the conventional boot camp style as Saturday. Stay tuned for more information.
