Studio 38 Fitness- Weekly Fit Check

Striving to continuously bring you the best in health and Fitness.

Hasan’s Last Day is Today

In honor of Hasan and this being his last day, we are planning on going to Waxy O’Connors in Woburn around 7:30 tonight for a couple beverages to wish him well. Any and all are welcome to come, especially if you didn’t get a chance to see him at our summer party.  We hope to see you there.

Summer Track Night Continues

Tonight is the last night for our running track series.  I am thinking of continuing the program through August and September as long as we get enough interest.  If you are interested in participating please email me at jeff@studio38fitness.com and reserve a space.  The cost is $8 per workout for all non training clients and no cost for all who train.

Sunday AM Runs

Another great complimentary program for all of our clients here at Studio 38 Fitness.  Every Sunday @ 8 AM we have a group that goes out running and all are welcome to join in.  It’s a great way to add that extra workout in every week.  We offer two different lengths of runs so it’s great for all levels.  This week we’ll have 1.5 and a 3 mile route.  All interested parties are welcome and should let me know they are coming by replying to this email.

Class Schedule, Slight Changes

We’re constantly trying to add value to your workouts by trying new things. We’re making some slight changes that we think will bring your workouts to the next level.

From now on Monday’s will be known as “Metabolic Monday’s”.  The Monday lunch class will still run from 12:15 – 1 PM but we’re going to change the format.  It will consist of continuous super sets of cardio and strength exercises with the hope that we keep your heart rate up for the duration of the class.  Monday night’s Spin/conditioning will consist of intervals in the spin room with the metabolic super set once we hit the main floor after.  Should be a real burner.

Thursday 30/30.  Don’t worry my friends, this class will remain on the schedule and a new instructor will be named very soon.

No more Core and More…. Cardio/Core it is!  As a bonus it will now start @ 12:00 instead of 12:15. This class will resemble our infamous 5×5 class but with the focus on abs/back during the strength portion.   Rip ’em up Fridays from now on!

5K for August

We’re currently trying to settle on the second 5k for August  in our monthly 5k run/walk series. If you have run or know of any fun 5K’s in the area, please let me know so I can check it out.  Right now we are looking at either Sunday 7/17 or 7/31.   Final date will be announced soon.

Mark Your Calendar- September Slim-down

Get all of your summer libations out of your system now because in September we’re getting right back on the wagon with our September 6 week slim-down.  All the information will be sent out very soon.

Summer Time Excess…. Not good for anyone

It’s easy to fall of the wagon in the summer time. Nice weather, more socializing, busy schedules so you miss your workouts.  Be careful when you’re out because the calories can add up.  Keep this in mind next time you go out and have a dinner out or a few drinks. Look at this:

2 glasses of red wine if poured correctly(5oz): 250-270 cal

4oz of calamari(app): 200 call

Simple dinner roll: 90 cal

5 oz of chicken breast: 265 cal

 Total: 805-825 calories

This is without desert, added vegetables other extras.  This is more than most peoples total caloric intake for half a day in one meal.  Do this a couple of times per week and you’ll soon see yourself losing the battle of the bulge.

Try a Pyramid to get Motivated

Pick 6 of your favorite exercises and start at 15 reps for each.  Then do a round of 12, 10, 8, 6 and 4 continuously without stopping.  The six exercises could look like this:

Squat jumps

Lunges

Push ups

Shoulder press

V-sits

Shoulder Taps

Don’t Celebrate Your Workouts

You’re not looking to celebrate that your worked out, celebrate when you reach one of your goals.
