Hasan’s Moving on/3 Year AnniversaryPartyThis Sunday @4 PM, RSVP
Not only are we celebrating our 3 year anniversary this month but we’re also wishing one of our own good luck. Hasan has been offered an opportunity at the hospital that he can’t turn down. Unfortunately for us he will no longer be able to train at the studio. Therefor, we are not only celebrating the studio but also wishing Has all the best in his future. The party starts at 4PM this Sunday, Chico and Heidi Barraza have kindly offered to open up their home at 17 Hillside Ave, Melrose. All studio clients are invited with a guest so please let me know by Thursday night the latest if you plan on attending. Good Luck Hasan!

We here at the studio make it a priority to support our own so tonight, please come join us as we help the Barrazas in their quest to help fight cancer. Heidi and Chico will be participating in this years Pan Mass Challenge on August 3rd and will be holding their annual fundraiser at the Asgard in Cambridge tonight from 5:30 on for anyone who would like to get out and help raise money for a great cause. First 5K Club Run/WalkResults are in….
One of the best idea’s we’ve come up with in a while is participating in a monthly 5K. This past Sunday 5 of us took part in the Tonneson and Co. 5K and I must say I couldn’t be happier about it. We has someone who ran one for the first time, someone who placed 3rd in their age category, someone who works over night and another person who is new to running. These people deserve all the praise and accolades they received. Congratulations to: Charlie, Kristen, Julie and Trish. You guys deserve it! The next race will be announced very soon in the future. Stay tuned.
Half Marathon TrainingStarts this Sunday
All interested parties who would like to start training for a half marathon this fall, we are starting our training this Sunday @ 8 am. We’ll meet at the studio and proceed to run 2 very short miles. We start this weekend and should be at prime half marathon shape about the weekend of October 11/12. I personally am going to run the Newport RI half though there are many others around the same dates. Training is complementary but you should let us know if you plan on running.

You’ve probably seen the plank challenge on-line at some point in your web surfing. What we’ve done is we have added little elements to the plank to make it that much more challenging/fun. Try doing the following additions to the plank for 40 seconds at a time in concession. We’d love to have your feedback.
Regular plank/ side plank each side/ plank with an alternating reach out in front as far as possible/ plank with hip pivot side to side/ plank neutral to pike for repetition/ plank on one centered elbow/ plank with knee cross unders/ plank with alternating knees high to the outside
