01. 4th of July Schedule

 

Happy Birthday America! Please note the following changes in the schedule for the next few days. Also note the Pops 4th of July concert has been moved to tomorrow (July 3rd) night rather than Friday.

 

Thursday: No Evening Class/ No Track Workout

Friday: Complementary workout @ 8:30 AM.  You MUST RSVP ahead of time for this class. Please do so soon if you haven’t already.

Saturday: Super Boot Camp @ 8:00 AM / Spinning @ 9:30 AM. 

Sunday: Off

 

02. This Weeks Workout: Metabolic Madness

 

Please super-set (go back and forth between) the two paired exercises 3 times then move on to the next paired exercises(rest for 1 minute after 3 rounds).  The first exercise you will do at max effort for 40 seconds, the second you will do for 15 repetitions.

 

A. Mountain climber/ Squat jumps

B. Speed skater/ Pushups

C. High Knee/ Pike pushups

D. Jumping jacks/ Shoulder taps- count 15 taps to the right side.

E. Foot fire/ Front lunges- 15 each side

F. Burpee/ Jack knife sit ups

G. Split jumps/ Plank- one minute

 

03. 5k Run Club

 

All interested parties in joining our new 5k running club please do so by emailing me at jeff@studio38fitness.com.  This club will pick one 5k race to run each month from July till October.  

 

04. 1/2 Marathon Training

 

I’ve decided on the Newport Half Marathon for this fall since I couldn’t do Boston’s Run to Remember due to my foot injury.  This race takes place on Sunday October 12 at 8 AM. It’s a great way to stay focused throughout the summer and offset all the social activities we take part in. For all interested parties, here is the link to the registration:

Training for this 1/2 marathon will start the weekend of July 26/27.  We’ll start will just 2 miles so it’s a great distance for anyone who was ever interested in running a half marathon.

 

05. Summer Party Details

Who: All current Studio 38 Fitness clients and a guest

When: Sunday July 27th

Time: 4 PM

Where: Heidi and Chico Barraza’s house, Hilliside Ave. Melrose (exact address to come)
