01. Fathers Day- Reminder This Sunday!

            For all of you wonderful people who want to honor your fathers but almost forgot, this is your friendly reminder.  So don’t forget!  Here are some great gift ideas:

    Watches

    Sports tickets

    Sports activities such as golf, etc.

    Any new technology items

    Wine

    Time with his family…… 😉

02. Sign Ups In The Studio

We have a lot of upcoming events in the next few months so it will be impossible for me to keep track of everyone who mentions in passing that they would like to attend X or Y.  So tomorrow I’m going to be putting up some sign up sheets for anyone interested in doing things such as climbing Mt. Monadnock, Thursday night track workouts, etc.  Please be aware and look for them at the studio.

03. Sample Workout

Are the legs tired or do you have a lower body injury? Feel as though you can’t get a good workout with just your upper body? Wrong! Try this upper body workout and give your legs a rest.

Perform each exercise in succession of each other with minimal rest in between, repeat 3 times:

1.Standard push ups- 20 reps(toes then knees if nec)

2.Isometric chest- arms straight in front/ hands clasped together and squeeze together for 30 seconds

3.shoulder taps- 45 seconds

4.Isometric door way shoulders(stand in doorway with arms at your side pressing against the door frame) – 30 seconds

5.Pike push ups- 15 reps

6.Reverse fly- lay on your stomach and extend your arms out to the side, focus on bringing your shoulder blades together and squeezing as if you’re holding a pencil in between. 20 reps

7.Bench dips- 20 reps off a chair or set of stairs

8.Mountain climbers- 40 seconds

9.Seated twists- 1 minute

10.Crunches- 30 reps

 

Repeat 2 times!!

 

04. Summer Party- Mark Your Calendars

We’re happy to announce that our 3 year anniversary party (man that went by fast) summer party will be held on Saturday July 26th @ 7 PM.  This year we’re keeping with our house party theme and Heidi and Chico Barraza have offered to open up their home for all of us to enjoy.  This is an RSVP event so you MUST let us know if you will be attending.

05. Fitness Trivia

 

Jeff and Has were roommates in college and a few years following college. During that time they had a 3rd roommate who also majored in Exercise Physiology.  The first person who emails Jeff at jeff@studio38fitness.com with the correct name of their other roommate will win 4 free classes.  No cheating by texting Has to find out……..

06. Last Weeks Updates

Don’t forget about what we have going on in the next couple of weeks. Here is a quick review of what we have going on:

Track workouts start June 19th @ 6:30 on the Stoneham High track

Climbing Mt. Monadnock will happen Sunday June 29th

07. 5k Series

            Who wants to start a 5k Club? Anyone interested in running/walking in one 5k race a month for July, August and September please let me know.  This will be a great way to stay motivated during the summer months when the weather is nice and you could easily find reasons to skip your workouts. 

 08. Fall Half Marathon

            Since I wasn’t able to run the Boston Run to Remember half marathon this year due to my heel, I’m going to make up for it by training for and running in one this fall.  Most likely in October.  You know what that mean, another running group! For all those interested, let me know and we can solidify a time when we can all meet to do our runs.
