Spring into Shape: Get Ready for

Summer Slimdown

With summer just around the corner I wanted to create a program to help people get ready for the nice weather. Soon we’ll be putting away the long sweaters and heavy coats and trading them for t-shirts and shorts. This 6 week program is going to help people get the ball rolling so they can be in the best shape of their life come June. Spring Into Shape is a simple, professionally guided weight loss/toning program that consists of using the best technology available along with easy to follow daily exercise routines. We’ll also meet once a week (Wednesday nights at 7:15) for about a half hour or so to discuss the different obstacles we encounter during the week and how to overcome them. It’ll include exercise and nutrition tips that are geared towards you being successful. All interested parties should email Jeff at jeff@studio38fitness.com and the kickoff meeting will be Wednesday March 28th @ 7:15 PM. This is free for all personal training clients and class participants and $99 for non participants.

Cause It’s Ladies Night…..

Join us this Friday @ 6:15 PM here at the studio for this months Ladies Night. This months workout will consist of 40 minutes Spinning followed by 20 minutes of body weight strengthening exercises. Then the usual ladies wine social post workout Sign up online or call the studio to reserve a space.

5 Mile/ Half Marathon Training

We’re entering our fourth week of training for the 5 miler/ half marathon in May and there is still time for interested parties to join the group. Anyone who might like to try running with the group is welcome to join us this Sunday @ 8 AM here at the studio. If you’re a beginner and want to start running, see below.

Walk to Run

We’ve had some interested people ask about starting a walk to run program for the spring. I’m all for it, let’s do it! If you or anybody you know is interested in starting from scratch and building their way up to running a 5k, have them(or you) contact me at the studio. A typical program is around 8 weeks and would involve meeting for a team workout once a week with “homework” assignments in between. It’s a great way to get started. All interested parties email jeff@studio38fitness.com.

Spartan Challenge Week is Next Week

Who wants to try and win 10 classes? All you have to do is workout a time and come in to complete the ST38F Spartan Challenge. Perform each of the following exercises as fast as possible with good form and enter for a chance to win. It’s that easy. Here are the exercises:

50 Reps Each

Weighted Squat Jumps

Split Jumps

Push ups

Body Row

Dumbbell Shoulder Press

Hanging Knee Raises

Fit Tip: Remember to Drink H2O

It’s going to be hot today and for the rest of the week so be sure to consume plenty of liquids. Event the smallest rise in temperature can make the body feel like it’s working doubly as hard. Keep it cool, stay hydrated.

One Response so far.

Did the Spartan 300 Challenge today. It was very tough, and took a long time start to finish, including recovery breaks.

    50 Reps Each

Weighted Squat Jumps – 25# DB each hand, DBs down as low as the small orange cone tops

Split Jumps – hands on top of the head

    Pushups – chest touching a 15# DB

    Body Row – tough

Dumbbell Shoulder Press – 30# DB each hand

Hanging Knee Raises – very tough

Anyone else up for some self-inflicted suffering? ;<D
